A Movement of Youth Agency and Collective Flourishing

Preamble

This is year 2023, and we are the youth trying to get through another day. We are the ones couch-potatoing at 3 AM, ADHD-ing through endless feeds, feeling disconnected in an hyper-connected world. We are the generation watching ice sheets melt, democracy fade, and mental health crises surge while being told that our anxiety and depression are just "part of growing up," that "this is how the world works."

But we are also the ones who hold a deeper truth: that our struggles aren't weakness, but a signal that this world needs to change. And we - yes, we - are the ones with the power to change it.

We, the youth of ForYouPage.Org (FYP), declare our power to reshape our world.

Our Vision

We create a world where every youth discovers their power to flourish and help others flourish. Where every youth has the collective resources, resilience, and power to be a changemaker in their own community. Where authenticity triumphs over conformity, agency triumphs over powerlessness, and compassion triumphs over our differences.

We envision a world where one day, every scroll through #FYP shows not just entertainment, but youth in action - planting community gardens, organizing mental health support groups, speaking truth to power. Where social media becomes a canvas of our generation being kind, fierce, and simply real-a catalyst for real-world change.

Our Core Values

Agency: People first. The power to create change lies within us. We prioritize personal well-being over systems as the foundation of collective power. Through youth supporting youth, local wisdom drives global impact. Our growth and our communities' growth are inseparable.

Authenticity: Being our true selves is revolutionary. Our boundaries are non-negotiable. Our struggles and victories, equally worthy of being shared, inspire others. Real change starts with being honest about who we are and being real about whom we could become.

Compassion: All people are fundamentally kind. We bridge divides through non-violent communication. Understanding opposition transforms conflict into connection. Every culture holds wisdom about nurturing human flourishing.

Openness: Knowledge is free. Transparency builds trust. Our differences in beliefs, identities, and approaches light the way forward. What we learn, we share. What we build, we share.

Fun: Joy is resistance. Humor connects us. Being young is our superpower. In party, we find sustainability.

How We Work

We are youth supporting youth, running on passion and often broke but never broken. We believe in:

  • The joy of being fiercely ourselves while helping others

Personal flourishing drives collective transformation:

The journey begins with the radical act of caring for ourselves and each other. But it doesn't end there. Through FYP, personal healing becomes collective power. Every youth who finds their voice helps others find theirs. Every local action - from community gardens to UN speeches - proves that youth agency can transform our world.
